Golden History Museums connects people to the history of Golden, Colorado through innovative exhibits, dynamic programs and historic collections. We strive to foster a sense of place and build community by being the leading source for local history.
Golden History Museums (Astor House Museum, Clear Creek History Park, Golden History Center) is a division in the City of Golden's Parks and Recreation Department.
Our community includes more than 250 dues-paying members, many corporate members, a year-round professional staff of eleven, and over 100 volunteers. We invite you to join us - as a member, a volunteer, or staff. You can also follow us on Facebook. (You will need to be logged into FB to become a fan of our page.)
We serve more than 30,000 visitors a year at our three sites. We welcome families, tourists, history buffs, summer campers, curious folks and groups of all kinds. In addition to scout groups and senior groups, we share Colorado history with 2,800 school students every year.
Our financial support comes largely from our ticket sales and admissions, the donations of community members, the City of Golden, the SCFD and foundations including The Denver Foundation and Golden Civic Foundation. Our federal tax ID is 84-6000591. If you have questions about our funding and finances, please don't hesitate to call our Director. We take fiscal accountability and transparency very seriously.
